Bayfield Cabin

SDFA is providing design services for a one-room residential timber frame cabin in Bayfield overlooking Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. The cabin was designed with maximum material re-use in mind and, with the exception of the foundation system, is being constructed entirely out of salvaged reclaimed materials. This includes but is not limited to: all structural components (glulam beams, posts, rafters, decking, etc.); lumber; insulation; sheathing, interior and exterior cladding; flooring; guardrail systems; and doors and windows.
